Didn’t you did this comparison in the past?

Boss 302,as there is nothing special about the Hertz one, just that it is limited edition that no one cares for.

I may have, the Hertz Mustang is in the same registry in Hertz as the GT350H is I found out.

But the Hertz was treated differently when they came back because they were customer cars after they were rentals.

I gotta check because I know Jalopnik did a thing about them or /Drive did with one of the Jalonik guys.

Also I know we talked about it but how is the BOSS for Daily use if you had to use it Daily?

I think you have done this before haven't you? And I say Boss 302. It has to be one of the best mustangs ever built

Drove it 2 weeks straight this summer rain or shine ( dd broke down ). It’s doable for sure but the condition of your roads would be the biggest factor. S.E. michigan is borderline doable.

I think I have as well but it’s winter and prices are dropping so they are about the same.

I’m in Kansas City and Springfield, MO soon, so smooth roads but sometimes will have holes. So it may be doable. I really want one for the handling and the Recaros because I am tall and have large shoulders that hang uncomfortable over the sides of the Stock seats.

Wow honestly that kinda bums me out. Lolz. Its a fun ride especially at that price point. Let me know if you got any questions. Shifter and trans are biggest weak points foiiowed closely by 2 piece driveshaft. Good luck

Dang, oh what do you think of this. Restripe BOSS 302 with Martini Racing Stripping, car would be a PW car? It would just remove the current ones and then replace with a Martini stripe in the same shape.

Ford racing aluminum one piece drive shaft lotsa different opinions on shifter its on my mod list for this summer and still undecided. . Got it narrowed down to mgw or the blowfish mount .

What exactly is wrong with the shifter? Because this will be my first stick shift car and will it be a hindrance if I do get one?

Fox body Notchback Coupe + Coyote + T56 + Wavetrac LSD.

Cheaper, faster and probably more durable than the new one.

Might I suggest a car with less power as the first car you learn manual on?

I’m just saying... when it comes to learning manual, if someone wants me to teach them, it has to be a FWD NA four banger.

You freak out and drop the clutch at the wrong time and spool the turbo? Thing will take off like a rocket. You need something that the parts are cheap for, and you really don’t care about. Learning manual, whether you’ve driven an auto for 5 years or you’re just about to get into your first 6 months, is not something you should do in a powerful car.

I fully encourage you get what you want, but I’d hate to see your first outing in a manual car end in a hefty repair bill.

Ah, in that case, feel free to ignore my ramble. Didn’t realize you already knew what you were doing, just read that it was your first.

In any case, my answer for this question will always be:

Fox Body Notchback Coupe + Coyote + T56 Magnum + Wavetrac LSD.

Stonger, faster, cheaper.

I’ve never been into Mustangs, but there’s something about the shape of a Fox Body. I like the hatch, but more recently the Notchback has been calling my name. Maybe it was Matt Farah’s?

In any case, I need to finish the Magnum before I get a project car.

Its fine putting around town but if you shift in anger above seven grand it’ll lock you out and bounce off rev limiter. Shifter is mounted to body so when you hammer it body flexes and binds.

I need to get my holiday photos done, maybe tonight I’ll find a garage I can get into, only downside is some of my batteries are dead.

Regardless, to spare you a little bit of time, the plans for the car are 6.1L bare block shipped out to AMS racing for a 426 stroker build, H beam rods, forged bottom end, the works. Some factory 6.1 heads ported and polished, titanium valves + valve springs and the icing on the cake ITB intake.

I plan to back it up using a T56 Magnum with an extra long pickup tube and going with the biggest brakes I can squeeze behind 18” wheels (which may just end up being the police package rotors and calibers, and I’ve got to do some homework on brake fluid. The rear will be supported by a Wavetrac LSD and 800hp axles to be on the safe side.

Pedal box will come out of a Challenger (I already have Challenger front seats installed).

I’m hoping someone wraps an SRT around a pole this winter so I can scoop up the motor + ECU and get the ball rolling.

No way, if you don’t mind my asking, what is it that you do at Chrysler?

I’ll admit, my first car was a 2004 Dodge Neon, and we’ll just say it was a love/hate relationship all the way up until it got totaled (other drivers fault for blowing a light). I wasn’t super big into the Chrysler or Mopar scene, but there was something about the Magnum that I just needed to have, so as a graduation present to myself, I found one, and struggled the whole way through with it. Now that the Hellcats are out, I’ve fallen in love with the marketing of the SRT brand, and it’s made me really proud to own a HEMI powered car (may just be the 5.7L for now, but I feel like it allows me to hang out with the big boys).

I also have an R129 SL600 Sport, but that’s a bit of a different story, that one is staying stock forever. I just had the suspension fixed on that, so I’m on a spending freeze until I find a 6.1L motor.

I found a guy parting out a Magnum racecar (doesn’t that sound too freaking awesome to part out?!), and I picked up his old Diablosport Trinity tuner which kickstarts my process of making all of this magic happen. My goals for the car are to go to autocrosses and just have fun. Don’t care if I knock every cone down on the way, I’ll be grinning ear to ear with the meanest wagon in the process.

Nothing cool at chrysler I work in dealer support and logistics in other words I put little boxes in big boxes but its a living. Used to be cnc a machinists but that’s aong stoy Had a 99 neon much the same experience. The Magnum Sounds like a great build and looking forward to more Damn now I’m looking at auction charger cop cars thx I guess. Lol

Mopar or no car.

You know it by heart!

The cop cars are a great start to any build, lots of hopped up factory parts already installed, radiator, brakes, oil cooler...

Ill be doing the brake rotor and caliper upgrade when my current rotors and pads are shot, or if the motor build finishes first. I expect a pretty long build process because its certainly not a cheap build.

What are your mustang plans?

Yeah I work at Mopar world head quaters plus I gota park in the back parking lot with the fords and I’m sick of walking. Nothing big on the boss pad upgrade driveshaft shifter and braided clutch line. Just came off warrenty so gotta do something. Wife has a o6 gt mustang mostly stock that we’ve had since new that needs some upgrades. Planning full suspension upgrade gt500 brake upgrade. Since its got the crap 4.6 and its the wifes baby looking at the supercharger upgrade expensive but best way to get 450 to 500 hp and I’ve never had a supercharged car. It’s great having a gear head wife until you realize your car budget just got cut in half and they won’t sell cars for irrational reasons.
